AG Emergency Rescue - 104 - Clear Lake Fire Department

Full Description: Training is provided by Professional Rescue Innovations (PRI). This class is typically 4 hours.

This course will assist first responders and rescue personnel will study principles and guidelines for safe response to agriculture related incidents. Subject matter covered includes tractor rollovers, grain auger entrapments, farm machinery entrapments, emergencies related electrical malfunctions, and chemical exposure incidents. Students will learn extrication methods, machinery stabilization, lock out/tag out of hazardous systems, in-depth look at agricultural trauma, focusing on patient injuries and assessment, as well as, packaging.

The hands-on portion of the course will focus on implement entrapments, entanglements.

Objectives:
* Identify the kinematics of specified farm equipment.
* Demonstrate rescue procedures of trapped patients.
* Describe the injuries occurred by PTO entanglements.
* Demonstrate stabilization techniques involving farm accidents.
* Describe the mechanism of agricultural trauma.

Resources Required: Student must bring their own PPE, SCBA, and a spare cylinder.
